Fat Quarter Tote Bag Tutorial

I made these for Mum's birthday over Easter using Marcus Brothers and Anna Maria Horner fabric. I used the Fat Quarter Tote Bag Tutorial over at Cicada Daydream but adjusted it slightly in size, handle length and I added an inside pocket. Oh, and the bigger one uses more than a fat quarter.

I've used a few tutorials for making bags but what I love about this one is the easy to follow instructions and diagram for doing the bottom corners. In fact, the whole tutorial is so easy you could whip one up in a couple of hours after work. If you've never made a bag or you have a great fat quarter of fabric lying around I highly recommend using this tutorial.

The nice thing about this tutorial is the ability to edit the sizes any way you want, which you did brilliantly. They're so much fun to churn out and be creative with. Thanks for sharing!

The bags look great, I have never made a bag, well not to this level of cleverness! I always admire others though, maybe one day...

It's very interesting to see how my original pattern has changed from one person to another, a bit like chinese whispers :)

Thank you very much for your cute tutorial, I made 2 for myself... but lined so the roll up is a bit bigger and do not look so cute. Nice anyway! :)

I've tried to contact this blogger, Edward and lily to get the tutitorial for this tote, would you happen to know the URL? Thank you so much

Hi Mary, I'm not sure why this pattern and blog can't be accessed any more, sorry. There are probably a lot of similar patterns online though.
