e&l @ in.cube8r

A little shot as promised of my cube at in.cube8r (thanks Vicky!). There's over 70 artists there now! How cool to have even more access to local handmade goods.

In.cube8r is at 1/253 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley. Anyone going to the launch party? See you there!

on being ethikl

I just opened up shop over at the ethikl online marketplace where there's a bunch of products for the ethical consumer. Here's a few of my faves I spotted while over there.

Cutest idea ever! I know a few little girls who would love a Doll/Teddy Pouch Sling

Yeah it's a little hippy but being the massive fan of sprouts that I am I can't go past the Sproutpouch

The Cement Shopping Bag because being without car I do sometimes feel like I'm carrying a bag of cement home.

I don't usually do the dental hygiene thing on my blog but you have to go over and read the description on these environmental toothbrushes, think I'll be making the switch quick smart!

I also have a lil cube at Brisbane's in.cube8r but in the mad dash of my recent move I forgot to take my camera along so I'll pop back soon with some pics :)

finds for a new nest

I'm setting up a new nest for myself tomorrow and dreaming of all the things I'd love to fill it with.

And the ultimate indulgence would have to be this amazing Handmade Mega Doily Rug from Ladies and Gentlemen.

Enough dreaming for now, best get back to the packing...

to market, to market

Thanks Bec for the photo!

I did lots of shopping and lots of selling at the BrisStyle Indie Eco Market on the weekend. Picked up some beautiful ceramics from Kim, a very cool scarf necklace which I'm still wearing from Kellie, the ultimate in relaxation eye pillow from Chris and one of Sam's super-fly hand-cut wooden guitar magnets. Thanks to everyone who popped by and said hello including the lovely Sarah all the way from NZ!

If you're in the city pop by Brisbane Square Library for the BrisStyle exhibition where you'll find 3 of my embroidered wall pieces including the one above. The opening is this Friday night, more details here.

But wait, there's even more fun July market dates for the diary! I'll have some new wares at the BrisStyle Indie Twilight Market on Friday 30 July in King George Square details here, and on the huge BrisStyle co-op at Red Hill Fair on Saturday 31 July.

And now it's time for a little blogging break while I pack up and move my little creative space to a new home, see you back here soon!

new work for BiECO

As promised, three new wall pieces for tomorrow's market: Little wooden toy horse hand-embroidered on vintage linen tea towel,

Songbird hand-embroidered on organic linen, and

this one is hand-embroidered on a vintage embroidered table cloth (it was stained so I'll be re-using sections of it for future work), the flowers are the original embroidery from the cloth. She doesn't have a name yet, suggestions?

All three will be available at the BrisStyle Indie Eco Market tomorrow (10 July), 9am-2pm at St Augustine's Church Hall and Grounds, Racecourse Road, Hamilton.

See you there!

My creative space ...

I'm stitching three new pieces for the BrisStyle Indie Eco Market on Saturday. This is a sneak peek of one of them in progress.

If you're in Brisbane or close by there'll be loads of eco-friendly and vintage wares up for grabs at BiECO as well as Reverse Garbage, Peppermint, a Kimono Reincarnate vintage kimono and fabric sale, kumihimo demonstrations, the very cool vegan hot dog guy, entertainment, hot coffee and loads more. It's on this Saturday 10 July, 9am-2pm at St Augustine's Church Hall and Grounds, Racecourse Road, Hamilton.

For more creative spaces head to Kirsty's and if you haven't entered my giveaway at Adore by Nat yet check it out here and interview here.

If all goes to plan I'll be back tomorrow with some images of the final pieces for Saturday.

e&l @ finders keepers

I'm so pleased with the massive weekend at Finders Keepers. I had a sweet little spot on the verandah this time, the weather was perfect, the bands were fab and I couldn't ask for better company.

Brisbane proved once again it has the goods when it comes to supporting independent crafters, artists and designers. The first 3 hours of each day were packed with punters ready to shop handmade.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a gossip, a laugh, to do some shopping and to my chief confidant who kept the stall in good order while I frolicked around.

I'm still in recovery mode but that doesn't last long in these parts, next up is the BrisStyle Indie Eco Market on Saturday 10 July (more details coming soon or check it out here) and I'll be at Suitcase Rummage this Sunday in King George Square with a few brooches, pendants and some goodies from my recent shoe and wardrobe clean out.

See you there!

i heart hankies

I love hankies especially vintage ones, I couldn't resist doing a little stitching on this one I picked up from Elsie Betty.

I have three more of these and, if finished in time, they will be making their debut at Finders Keepers and BiECO.
