the one that made me cry

I like finding out about where food comes from. Some people don't and I respect that. Sometimes when you find out it changes something inside you. I think that's what this book will do for a lot of people. Writers like Jonathan Safran Foer are slowly changing the way we think about our actions. If you like finding out about food too check out this link.

Dreaming of a White Christmas?

Thinking about Christmas? I know some very organised people who are which is why I'm busy making White Christmas Birds this week.

Available for pre-order in the shop now.

nothin' like a break!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market today :)

I'm taking a little break from tomorrow to check out some art at ShContemporary in Shanghai and Gwangju Biennale, Korea before I get back into the swing of things!

See you in a few weeks!

kittens inspired by kittens

Ok, so after my last post a friend directed me to this hilarious video which features a kitten that looks suspiciously like my little Cellar Door.

After watching it I came across this even funnier one which takes 'kittens inspired by kittens' to the next level!

hehe, enjoy your weekend!!

cellar door

Hello lovely readers, I'm just popping in to introduce you to a lovely little lady who moved in with me recently. I'm not one for responsibility, far from it, but who could resist those big blue eyes.

She'd like to go outside but there is a tendency for cat fights to go down in our little block of units and she's far too precious for that. Plus I'm not technically allowed to have pets but she's well behaved and very quiet so hopefully we can keep it under wraps.

Her name is Cellar Door but if you visit you can call her Cellar.

In other news, the day job has been nuts so this space will be bare for most of August. I've just returned from Melbourne Art Fair, the DUST conference is this weekend (are any of you going?) and then it's off to lovely sunny Cairns for the Indigenous Art Fair.

You can catch me on Saturday 4 September at the next BrisStyle Indie Designers Market from 9am-2pm at St Augustine's Church Hall and Grounds, Racecourse Road, Hamilton.

See you there!

P.S. Yes, the pear in the first shot is from moose & bird and if you feel the need to take on a little responsibility you too can have your own flat pet from here. There's also very cute pet bunnies but bear in mind that having a bunny as a pet in Queensland is illegal :(

blue caravan

Have you checked out blue caravan? There's a whole lotta style going on over there with the way sellers photograph their wares.

I love the cute little hands holding the pear in this shot.

And the beautiful wooden fence in this one.

This shot just makes me wish Summer would come round quicker.

But the best shot has to go to that girl, for having the guts to stick her un-manicured hand in front of the camera, brazenly holding up her brooches for the world to see. That's right, this shot says, they're not cut by a machine like so many others that have come before, they're cut with these hands!

I've set up shop over at blue caravan too, you can check it out here :)
