on being ethikl

I just opened up shop over at the ethikl online marketplace where there's a bunch of products for the ethical consumer. Here's a few of my faves I spotted while over there.

Cutest idea ever! I know a few little girls who would love a Doll/Teddy Pouch Sling

Yeah it's a little hippy but being the massive fan of sprouts that I am I can't go past the Sproutpouch

The Cement Shopping Bag because being without car I do sometimes feel like I'm carrying a bag of cement home.

I don't usually do the dental hygiene thing on my blog but you have to go over and read the description on these environmental toothbrushes, think I'll be making the switch quick smart!

I also have a lil cube at Brisbane's in.cube8r but in the mad dash of my recent move I forgot to take my camera along so I'll pop back soon with some pics :)

  5. Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking but are the embroidered buttons on this post actually buttons or brooches? I've been looking for something like self cover buttons but with brooch backs but I'm having trouble finding a supplier. Your work is lovely!

  7. Hi Gina

They're brooches. They're actually completely hand-stitched, I use a curtain ring on the inside and stitch felt with the brooch back sewn onto the back. It's more time consuming than self covered buttons but I kinda like the hand stitched look on the back rather than the metal/plastic of the buttons. I've never been able to find self cover buttons with brooch backs but I'm sure they exist somewhere. Most people I know who use self covered buttons glue the brooch back on the back but I have brooches made in this way and eventually it always comes off.

    Hope this helps!
