My creative space...

A Christmas day conversation:

Aunty Rebecca: What would you like me to make you for your 4th birthday this year?

Little A: Umm... an Ariel costume.

Aunty Rebecca: uuuuhhhh.... okaaaayyy.....

This is just a very small section of a desk covered in mermaid sketches, sparkly pink, sea green shimmer, tulle, cotton, sequins and pathetic attempts at making quilted sea shells... this morning things are finally looking up ;)

  11. Lesson number one - NEVER ask a pre-schooler what they want you to make for them. In my case the reply was a tiger costume. So I obliged. Fur 2 inches long clogging up my sewing machine. It's what you do for someone you love - but never again!

Your beautiful creation will be truly loved and cherished by the little mermaid.
